Time's engineers spent almost 2 years agonising over every detail of the 2025 SCYLON because balancing aerodynamics, weight, and stiffness is challenging: increasing tube sizes adds weight, and narrowing frontal areas can affect performance and ride quality. As part of our mission to push performance further, we set out to reduce weight by exploring new materials and refining our construction techniques.

Objective: Reduce weight by exploring new materials.

Result: Achieved a 100+ gram weight reduction per frame size.

Committed to maximizing speed and efficiency, we focused on refining aerodynamics through advanced shaping and cutting-edge CFD analysis.

Objective: Improve aerodynamics via shaping & CFD analysis.

Result: Achieved a 12% aerodynamic improvement.

As part of our mission to advance all six key performance characteristics — weight, aerodynamics, stiffness, strength, ride quality, and craftsmanship — we set out to refine our Braided Carbon Structure (BCS) technology.

Objective: Advance BCS technology to maintain stiffness and strength.

Result: Pedaling stiffness maintained, torsional stiffness improved by 9%.

CHASING PERFECTION - OPTIMIZED SHAPING

We evolved the tube shapes to reduce drag without sacrificing stiffness. We enhanced the classic airfoil-shaped down tube and seat tube to meet the demands of modern road racing, and we lowered the overall weight without sacrificing our legendary telepathic handling.

REDESIGNED AERO FORK

TIME forks have set the standard for over 30 years, and we leaned into that expertise to create a totally new fork for SCYLON. It delivers a 4% decrease in drag with no decrease in stiffness, and provides clearance for 32c tires. SCYLON is also the first TIME frameset to incorporate two different offsets in order to create consistent handling and ride quality across all sizes.

POWERBOX CHAINSTAY

The distinctive one-piece chainstay system was the heart and soul of the original SCYLON.

For 2025, we reconstructed the entire Powerbox system from ultra high modulus fibers. The result is a 20% weight reduction in the component, 32c tire clearance, and zero loss of the exceptional performance characteristics of the original.

2025 SCYLON SEATPOST

Produced using the same materials and technology as the frame, the SCYLON seatpost system allows for perfect integration and seamless aesthetics. The seat rail clamping system is a patented design that easily adjusts for both a -20mm and a +10mm offset allowing for a massive range of fore-aft adjustability, and compatibility with 7mm round and 7x9mm oval seat rails - regardless of material.
