The Bike Lounge & Moda bikes are Milano bound!

Moda bikes and The Bike Lounge Nottingham are delighted to be supporting Niall Treacy, Team GB’s lone short track athlete at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.

The Team GB speed skating programme is based at The National Ice Centre in Nottingham and their athletes do a lot of training on the bike throughout the year, so getting the latest equipment is nearly as important off the ice as it is on.

This will be 25 year old Niall’s second olympic games, following his debut in Beijing in 2022 and he is super excited to be in Italy later this month fine tuning his form and flying the flag for Team GB as well as The Bike Lounge & Moda Bikes.

He collected his new Moda Finale bike from The Bike Lounge on Wollaton Road earlier this week and following a bike fit, it is straight back in to a box and Niall and the bike are off to Holland where Niall will be competing in the European Championships, the final warm up event pre Olympics. The Moda Finale was selected for him as their bikes are all hand assembled in the UK meaning we could get the perfect fit for Niall, essential for an athlete of his calibre at the top of his game.

The Bike Lounge is based in Beeston, on Wollaton Road and opened up during the Covid pandemic in 2020 after owner Rodney Rouse was made redundant from his then employer within the cycling industry. Since then the shop has helped support and service many of the team GB skaters and staff as well as competitive cyclists and members of the public who commute or just ride their bikes for pleasure.
